Obverse depicting an elephant walking and design of World War II colonial coinage; Reverse with bank offices in Matadi, 1909, Leopoldville (now Kinshasa) in 1959. Issued a year before independence ushered in anarchy and incessant disorder. By De Greef, golden patina. Provenance: From an important Greenwich, CT estate. In choice uncirculated condition.
