Barbara Bouman Jay American (20th/21st Century) Five Vertical Abstract Lithographs artist proof lithographs each signed lower right and numbered center bottom, the first work numbered 14/150, the second work numbered 15/150, the third work numbered 17/150, the fourth work numbered 18/150, and the fifth work numbered 19/150 Sheet: 29 x 21 3/4 in. (73.7 x 55.2 cm.), Frame: 39 1/2 x 32 in. (100.3 x 81.3 cm.) Barbara Bouman Jay Personal Statement: I allow a dialog to develop among pieces while exploring both experimental and deliberate actions. Content is not literal or representational, but rather a response to subconscious and conscious processes. A cycle of deconstruction and reconstruction continues until the piece becomes relevant for me. I can relate this to a meditative, sensual, and intuitive journey into boundless space. Throughout the process, the work is always changing while the quietly contemplative pieces shift focus from structure and color to the subtleties of texture and layering, to suggest a history, a balance of intellect and senses. The result is a luscious surface and aesthetic contemplative arrangement. https://www.barbaraboumanjay.com/
