Roagna has only risen as a bright star in the wine growers' firmament over the last 10-15 years or so, mainly because Alfredo has always been rather reticent and, although producing some excellent reds, he has not devoted much time to public relations. This does not mean, of course, that his pre-1990 wines are less interesting or of lower quality.
