Alfredo Barbini
He was born in 1912 and is today considered one of the most prestigious masters of the twentieth century.
From an early age he began working with blown glass; first at the Zecchin Martinuzzi glass factory (1932 – 1936) where he learned the technique of working solid glass from the sculptor Napoleone Martinuzzi, then at the V. A. M. S. A. glass factory. (Vetreria Artistica Muranese Società Anonima) where he refined his technique.
In 1946 the maestro became director of the Gino Cenedese furnace and worked here for four years.
In 1950 he founded the Vetreria Alfredo Barbini where he could give free rein to his mastery and creativity.
