Although Merino's design is from the 1920s, the aesthetic feels almost timeless: minimal graphic forms and saturated color depict the glowing sun over the ocean, providing us with just enough information to convey a flight from Barcelona to Palma de Mallorca across the Mediterranean Sea. Spain has over 3,000 kilometers of coastline, which practically begged for the development of seaplanes. Though they were initially created for military operations, seaplanes also transported casual travelers, as seen here.
