Bargueño, "The Apocalypse Cabinet": Neapolitan - with scenes of the with scenes of the Book of Revelation - Baroque style - Bone, Ebony, Iron (cast/wrought), Wood - Circa 1800

- A rarest cabinet with scenes of the Book of Revelation, which have been identified and detailed in one of the photos. - Following the late 17th and early 18th Neapolitan models, prized pieces of furniture that were often copied in Spain. The scenes have probably been copied or synthetized from etchings, maybe Jacques Callot, or Van Orley. - The table appears Spanish, the cabinet Italian (the claw feet most likely added later) - Displays its original locks, although the original keys have been lost. - Good condition overall. Some of the inlay sheets are somehow damaged or folded. - 129 x 79 x 36 cm (The whole item; measures of the cabinet and the table detailed below) - Will be shipped in two crates. - Private collection in Madrid.
