Baroque chestnut walnut baroque chest of drawers - Wood - around 1740

Southern German Baroque walnut commode and other fine woods, from ca. 1740Elegant and from a well-kept private collection Suitable as a collector’s item or as an element for modern and classic home decor. RARE FORM + STRAPWORK + CHISELLED FITTINGS + ORIGINAL CONDITION + SAWN VENEERCONDITION:
- Overall in good condition from a well-kept private collection- Genuine craftsmanship, exceptionally well made- Rare, pristine original condition with slight signs of age and wear and tear, hasn’t been overly restored. POSITIVES:
- No stress cracks in the body- The feet are firmly attached- Clean and odour-free- Only a few old worm holes (no active worm infestation) - Knobs and keyhole plates are original- Drawers open and close easily, interior floor protected by decorative paper inserts. DEFECTS:
- Locks were removed during restoration in the past. VENEER DAMAGE:
- Top cover, left ornament field, mid-left veneer sheet, slight 10 cm tear- The same in the right ornament field, but there the tear is significantly less conspicuous- Loose (but present) veneer piece, 4 x 2 cm, on the right corner profile of the upper drawer- Middle veneer sheet on the left side of the second drawer on the front is slightly raised- Bar between the 2nd and 3rd drawer is missing a small piece on the right, 3 x 2 cm- Missing piece of the left corner profile on the lower drawer, 1 x 1 cm
