Dimensions of the print: 29.5 × 65 cm
Dimensions with mounting strips: 40 × approx. 70 cm
A linocut on linen canvas depicting the artist’s interpretation of the king figure from a deck of cards. The composition is executed in Bartosz Ostrowski’s characteristic style, combining exceptionally precise drawing with rich ornamentation and fantastical motifs. The figure of the monarch, armed with a sword and an axe and holding a burning heart, is set within a rhythmic arrangement of undulating lines that create the illusion of movement and depth.
The artist uses the traditional linocut technique to create a contemporary visual narrative that draws on the aesthetics of dark fantasy, playing card symbolism, and fantasy illustrations. The print on raw linen canvas emphasizes the work’s unique character.
