Bas Kosters has a strong emotional bond with the objects in his environment. When he came to Amsterdam, he roamed the streets in search of treasures, materials for his work. His fascination with traffic cones is ongoing. With this 'Safe me' project, he wants to put that attraction into words. Objects give him a sense of comfort and security. By executing the traffic cone in glass, Kosters tries to add value to a usually worthless, ignored and overlooked object. The Glass traffic cones were produced at the National Glass Museum Leerdam. This orange traffic cone is number 9 in an edition of 14, exhibited during the 'Refresh' exhibition in the Amsterdam museum in 2020. Bas Kosters obtained his masters in Fashion Design in 2003 at the Artez Academy in Enschede. Fashion is only a small part of his outspoken and colorful work. From drawings, wall hangings and unique dolls to these glass objects.
