Bas-relief - Roman senator in the act of reading a probable edict - Marble - Second half 20th century
This bas-relief work is very faithful to the small, late Roman reliefs found in our archaeological museums. It represents a Roman senator reading some decree. Wrapped in his toga, the senator elegantly pronounces his words. This academy work was purchased by my father in the 1950s, in Carrara and it has been part of my collection since then.
