Printed in black with an animated naval engagement 'Lord Nelson engaging the Toulon Fleet off the Mouth of the Nile', the French flagship L'Orient just having gone up in flames, the reverse with a detailed print 'An East View of the Bridge Over the Wear near Sunderland', signed Edward Barker, a black enamel line below the rim, 23.3cm high
See lot 123 in this sale for a mug with an alternative print of the battle of the Nile and a very similar inscription, probably made in Sunderland.
