Beatles Signed 'Meet the Beatles' Album

[ translate ]

Capitol Records ‎(T 2047) pressing of the Meet the Beatles! album, signed neatly on the back cover in blue ballpoint by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, and John Lennon. In fine condition. The record is not included. A virtually flawless example of the Beatles' second album to be released in the United States. Despite the album's front cover claiming the record to be the band's 'first,' in actuality, Meet the Beatles! was their second, with Introducing…The Beatles released by Vee-Jay Records only 10 days prior on January 10, 1964. Meet the Beatles! jumped to the top of the Billboard Charts a month later and remained at number one for 11 weeks before it was replaced by The Beatles' Second Album. For millions of Beatles fans, this groundbreaking record served as a resounding first impression that heralded the beginnings of American Beatlemania. Featuring Robert Freeman's iconic cover art, the very same used for the United Kingdom release of With the Beatles, this fully signed early American pressing represents the pinnacle of Fab Four autograph collecting, and is thus a must-have for the true-blue Beatles fan._x000D_

Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, in part: "These signatures are found on the back cover of a 'Meet the Beatles' record jacket which was the band's first U.S. LP release on Capitol Records. This is a first issue monaural copy which has been beautifully autographed in blue ballpoint by all four...There are half a dozen authentic fully signed U.S. 'Meet the Beatles' albums known to exist with this example having been meticulously well preserved making it a world-class example, and possibly the finest of the known options." He goes on to observe that this is "potentially one of the most important signed Beatles items in existence."
