Here is a beautiful antique Greiner #6 Paper Mache doll with Label on back:
Greiner's Patent Doll Heads; No.6; Pat. Mar. 30, '58, Ext. '72. Some of it is
worn away - see photo. About 21" tall.
The blondes are less available. You see a lot of these dolls with black hair,
so finding a blonde is special!
Condition:
Head has no chips/cracks; some crazing; surface dirt; beautiful painted blue eyes, red lips, brows (some missing).
The shoulder plate has wear and missing a small piece on the front.
Her "curl" has a pinhole at the top - probably from the factory.
The tip of her nose has paint missing, and is not chipped flat.
Beautiful molded blonde hair with nice styling.
The body is stuffed with leather arms - you will see some old repair stitching
to leather. Her upper arm has what looks like a part of an old sock that has been sewn in place.
One hand is missing a finger and one is stretched longer than the others.
Her body has stains to her muslin fabric. Below the knee area is a brown fabric too look like stockings (needs a few stitches to connect to each other). Her shoes are red leather - One shoe is missing one bead, the other is missing 2 beads. Her underskirt and dress are stained from age -
her dress is cotton and trimmed with beautiful lace; her underskirt is also
cotton and trimmed with lace.
