This is one of the finest of his works, signed by the artist on the bottom.

Shumei Fujii was born in 1936 into the Fujii family, which had been involved in pottery making for generations since the Edo period. After becoming independent, he opened his own kiln, Shumei Kiln, in 1974.
He is known for his high skills to portray the nature.
