A beautiful Greek red-figure pyxis depicting two Ladies of Fashion, Apulia, c. 4th Century BC, finely potted with vestigial handles, the sides adorned with a female head in profile, richly adorned with earrings, lovely palmette designs opposite; a wave motif around the rim. The lid is well-fitted with nob handle encircled by radiate tongues or lines. 3 3/8 x 3 1/4 in (8.5 x 8.3 cm). Ex collection of Karl Kress, Munich.
