Beautiful Roman Glass Bead Necklace w/ Cobalt Hues

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century BCE. A gorgeous strand of Roman glass beads of striking cobalt blue hues. All of spherical or barrel form, the ancient beads are strung on a modern strand to graduate towards the center where they come to a point. A stunning and wearable adornment from the ancient Roman Empire with the rare ability to serve as something old, something blue, and something new for a blushing bride! Size (of necklace): 17.3" L (43.9 cm); Size (largest bead): 0.3" W x 0.2" H (0.8 cm x 0.5 cm)

Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s
