Beautiful antique gold bracelet with 7 Egyptian scarabs
A beautiful antique gold bracelet with 7 Egyptian scarabs. Six of the scarabs are ancient Egyptian and one is modern. Stand outs are a pair of late New Kingdom faience and steatite scarab with amuletic cartouche of the pharaoh Thutmose III, c. 1200 - 1075 BC, a New Kingdom scarab with a pair of Eyes of Horus on the base, a large 3rd Intermediate steatite scarab with good green glaze and a Late period type with a Nefer sign next to a scorpion. The modern scarab bears a stylized falcon on the base. All of these scarabs are nicely set in a custom gold bracelet, (likely 10k but it is unmarked), the links adorned with rosettes and a floral element is atop the clasp. Length 7 in (17.8 cm) not including the safety chain. Ex Edinburgh private collection.
