Description
Beautiful rapier, sword with silver inlay, Italy, In the style of the 16th-17th century. The steel, powerful, straight blade has one fuller on each side. At the base of the blade there is a clemo craftsman, probably Switzerland, 16th century. The forged hilt of complex shape is inlaid with scraped inserts in the form of flowers. The wooden handle is wrapped with silver wire. The iron pommel is inlaid with silver inserts in the form of flowers and silver medallions in the form of the Ancient gods, Athena and Dionysus. Rare collector's item in good condition.
