Bedspread - 235 cm - 214 cm

Imposing double bedspread in satin, silk and cotton from the early 1900s with large dimensions. After all, the old beds had different dimensions from the modern ones and the mattresses were made to measure, as was the related linen, in fact its measurements are 235 cm wide by 214 cm long, adding a 9 cm fringe on three sides. On a modern bed with a classic 80cm or 90cm mattress it reaches down to the floor, elegantly dressing the bed and giving it a sober tone without excess.
The dominant color is a beige background, of shiny satin as if it were Ottoman, a warm color that can easily be combined with the colors of a house and to give it value and importance, hieroglyphic flowers and colored lines have been embroidered on the entire bedspread. green, antique pink and gold. The photos are illustrative to see that it is all embroidered on all sides above the cushion and up to the fringe. That it is embroidery and not printing, just look at the reverse and it is clear.
Given the grandeur of the embroidery, a simple straight fringe 9 cm high was added which matches the color of the light background, I would say ivory white. It's all embroidery with flowers on the head and bottom and hieroglyphics and lines.
It is difficult to find similar bedspreads with these fabrics and especially these embroideries.
The two side edges are rounded to better dress the bed.
It is part of my collection and this one, like many others, is in good condition and I presume rarely used given the variety I inherited.
Overall I would say that it is a very particular bedspread and different from the usual ones seen on the market. The fabric is gorgeous. In fact, generally the flowered ones are printed with damask and smooth silk. Its neutral color and its rich embroidery on the entire bedspread reaching up to the fringe and on the part that covers the cushions and its dimensions give it its true value.
The consistent fabric also dresses the bed perfectly, giving it softness and elegance at the same time. An object from times gone by but always current for those who love the past. It can also be used as a table cover with an embroidered one on it. When an object is beautiful it can always be used as a sofa cover given its size.
My ancestors gave great importance to the furnishings of the house and always had new objects and fabrics made also for the dowry to be given to their children
I found it together with all the others and given the multiplicity I'm selling some of them so that they can have a new life instead of keeping them locked in a closet
It has no stains on the case and is in good condition, I won't say excellent because it is used and has its age
It easily matches the colors of a house and given the simplicity of the embroidery on a modern or antique bed
I use private couriers to ship and not post offices so that the item arrives sooner and has double packaging and communication is simpler.
