Beijing Palace Carpet Silk
Northeast China, c. 250 x 153 cm, about 1900, disc medallion with lotus flowers on imperial yellow ground, full silk pile, the inscription indicates that the carpet was manufactured for the Hall of Military Eminence, where, among other things, texts and books were written.
Translation:
“to be used in the Hall of Military Eminence (wu ying dian)”.
