Beijing glass vase, Qing dynasty
Glass in two colours blue and red/pink. The 'Dan ping' shape is slender with a straight neck and rounded body, similar to the profile of a bottle. The surface is decorated with relief and carved elements. The neck is covered with large leaves, joined to the body by a geometric border, completed with a geometric-style spiral pattern. On each side is a medallion in the shape of a lion's head, which serves as handles. The handles are red in colour, as is the foot, which is joined to the body with a lotus-flower relief.
Four Qianlong characters '乾隆年制' (Qiánlóng nián zhì) are engraved on the base.
