Belgian officer’s parade sword, with the inscription “Pour le Roi et la Patrie” (For King and Country) . Matching nickel-plated sheath. Made by Fonson in Brussels. Artillery Officer’s sword, Kingdom of Belgium, last third of the 19th century. Straight blade with a ribbed back, nickel-plated steel etched on the right flank with the inscription ‘POUR LE ROI ET LA PATRIE’ (For King and Country) between two chimeras and also on the back of the blade with the monogram of King Albert I. (Length: 88 cm) Gilded bronze trim (some wear) , decorated with foliage. Nickel-plated iron sheath with single loop. Length: 105 cm
