Belmag zurich lamp dating from the 1930s. Belmag was a renowned manufacturer, working with the best german and swiss designers. The base and reflector is made of aluminum , there are some small indentation on the reflector and light distortion ( seen in the picture ) .
tripping the old paint exposes the bare metal beneath, usually steel alloy; superior in quality to the recycled metal of mass production pieces seen today. After a fine polishing the resulting metal reveals its character, warmly tempered through the passage of time.
