The Baluchis live on the border between Iran and Afghanistan; this name generically indicates a group of nomads made up of minor tribes of various origins. The latter live from agriculture, sheep, goat and camel breeding and carpet knotting.
Baluchi carpets are closely familiar with carpets from Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. The colors that characterize them are opaque, dark red, dark blue, black and brown.
The workmanship is of high quality; the carpets are thick and thin and give a feeling of true nomadic manufacturing.
