Benitoite & Neptunite Dallas Gem Mine, Santa Rita Peak, New Idria District, Diablo Range, San Benito Co., California, USA "Blue triangular benitoite crystals to almost an inch on matrix with white massive natrolite and a few neptunite crystals. The specimen is about 4 inches across. Got this specimen when I sold the Earl Calvert collection for the family." - Rock H. Currier It is sort of ironic that around the time that Benitoite becomes the official California State Gemstone, the mine runs out of it. Kinda sums up politics on the state level: the citizens are all packing up and running out. The specimen is well studded with an assortment of both Benitoites and Neptunites. Maybe there's more hiding under that Natrolite (?). There is a custom labeled base. Overall Measurements: 3.9 x 3.9 x 2.0 inches (10.0 x 10.0 x 5.0 cm) Offered at no reserve. Provenance: Ex.
