Berezovsky Dmitry Innokentievich (1920 – 2005) Talented Russian artist, was born in the village of Zhigalovo in the Irkutsk region. The main theme of Berezovsky's work was landscape – the artist for forty years of his activity wrote both thematic paintings and portraits, worked in animation as a production designer, created graphic sheets and decorative panels, but it was the landscape that always took a leading place in his work. All Berezovsky's landscapes are lyrical, full of light and air. Their picturesque structure is characterized by a free dynamic brushstroke and texture. Light, as if penetrating the picture from the outside, naturally interacts with the objects depicted on it. His works of the 1950s resemble impressionist paintings ("In the sun" (1958), "Landscape with a cloud" (1957), "In the evening rays" (1959)). Since 1939 was a participant of exhibitions. During the great Patriotic War, Berezovsky fought on The South-Western, Steppe fronts, and commanded a platoon. In 1950, he graduated from the Russian State University of Cinematography, where his teachers were P. Kotov, Y. Pimenov, G. Shegal, and F. Bogorodsky. After graduation, he studied painting under the direction of K. F. Yuon. In 1952, Berezovsky was accepted as a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. The artist made creative trips to Siberia, Transbaikalia, Central Asia, and Ukraine, where he painted a lot on the plein air. Wherever Berezovsky was, he skillfully conveyed the originality of nature inherent in this particular place. In 1983, Berezovsky's personal exhibition was held in Moscow. The artist had diplomas of Moscow Union of Artists of RSFSR, the prize of the IV International film festival in Karlovy Vary (1951) for best children's film ("Tale of the fisherman and the Golden fish", in which he participated as an art director. The artist's works are presented at the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), the Museum of contemporary history of Russia (Moscow), Museum-panorama "Battle of Borodino" (Moscow), Irkutsk regional Museum of local lore, Moscow regional Museum and other collections in Russia and abroad.
