Berg, J.M. van den (1905-1978). Archive, consisting of ±170 drawings on paper, watercolour and pencil (±35x signed by the artist), ±175 etchings (135x signed by the artist), 9 sketchbooks mainly w. pencil drawings of female nudes, 7 orig. etching plates and ±100 photographs, ±1960-1978. = Josua Michiel van den Berg was one of the founders of the "Haagse Aquarellisten" and a member of the painters society Pulchri Studio. The archive also contains i.a. numerous manuscript letters from artists (i.a. from the Pulchri Studio), wishing cards (i.a. signed), menu-cards and newspaper clippings (mostly tipped-in in two ringbound notebooks). Nice collection with drawings, mainly sketches of female nudes, views of harbours and the beach (often with boats) in Zeeland (mainly Veere), Altea (Spain) and still lifes. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE V.
