Berlin KPM porcelain models of the four continents

Model nos. 370 (Africa), 371 (Europe), 372 (America) and 373 (Asia). Blue sceptre mark, red imperial orb mark, model, painter's and former's marks. Both arms of the figure of America reattached, the tip of her feather headdress, the hand of Africa holding the bow and the leg of the putto behind Asia restored. H 25.5 - 28 cm.
After 1871, models by Wilhelm Christian Meyer, 1768/69.

The decor on these examples of the figures of the four continents, produced during the Imperial era, differ from earlier pieces. The figure of Europe is also shown here holding the crown in her hand, rather than wearing it on her head as in the earlier examples.
