Oil on canvas after Titian (Italian,1485-1576), attributed to Guillio Bertoncelli (Italian, 1880-1920), portrait depicting "Flora", after the original executed in 1515. Illegible seal and script at upper left corner and "La Flora di Tiziano G. Bertoncelli Copio," en verso. Guido Rangoni studio label en verso of frame. Housed in an elaborate giltwood Rococo style frame with carved scrolling, berries and leaves. Sight: 30 3/4" H x 25" W. Framed: 42 1/4" H x 36 1/4" W. Early 20th century.Provenance: The collection of a Tennessee institution.
Condition Report: Overall good condition with some craquelure, puncture to canvas at subject's left breast, measuring 3/8" H x 1/4" W, with adjacent paint loss and impact craquelure. Frame with some losses to gilt, largest measuring 5/8" H x 1 3/4" W.
