Bertoncelli O/C "Self Portrait," After Titian

Guillio Bertoncelli (Italian, 1880-1920) oil on canvas painting after a circa 1550 self portrait by Titian (Italian,1485-1576). Signed in lower left corner, "G Bertoncelli." Illegible seal and script at upper right corner and museum accession number, en verso. Guido Rangoni studio label en verso of frame. Housed in an elaborate giltwood rococo style frame with carved scrolling, berries and leaves. Sight: 30 3/4" H x 25" W. Framed: 42 1/4" H x 36 1/4" W. Early 20th century. Provenance: The collection of a Tennessee institution.
Condition Report: Some warping to canvas, minor abrasions and some discoloration to the background. Frame with some minor losses to gilt, largest 1" H x 1/2" W.
