Bessarabian Kilim

Southeast Europe, c. 404 x 170 cm, 19th century, a rare, old woven carpet in kelley format from the lower Vltava region, very beautiful abrashed central field in different shades of green, yellow and brown with horizontal rows of flowers and trees, manufactured on wool warp in slit technique with largely interlocked wefts, no chemical colours can be detected, minor damages to the field could be easily repaired, also extensive edge and end damage.
