This piece was hand embroidered in the traditional maggam style depicting a stunning white peacock. The edges feature golden Zardozi embroidery with gold thread and feature lapis and ruby beads throughout. Zardozi is a centuries old technique used to adorn the robes and household items of royalty, which uses hand embroidery work done with real gold wires and real precious and semi precious stones. The metallic threads add a beautiful shimmering effect to the piece. The tapestry is professionally framed in an exquisite wood and gilt gold frame under plexiglass. Measurements: 75" x 39.5". This item comes directly from the estate of Mrs. Bibi Hilton, and was used in her beloved Gulfport, Mississippi home. Mrs. Hilton was the wife of famed Hilton hotelier and heir Eric Hilton of the Hilton Hotel family, the youngest grandson of Conrad Hilton.
