Bibi Hilton's Sun Chao Crystalline Glaze Ceramic Vase W/Booklet and Box (From the Estate of Mrs. Bibi Hilton) - This beautiful ceramic vase made by famous Chinese artist Sun Chao was owned by Mrs. Bibi Hilton. Sun Chao dedicated his life to perfecting the art of "crystalline glaze," and was the first Taiwan-based artisan to pioneer these ceramics. Sun Chao's ceramics feature high-temperature fired Crystalline Glazes, with crystals in the shape of flowers that appear on top of the glaze and are formed naturally through the firing process. Chao was the recipient of a National Award for Arts in 1987 and a National Craft Achievement Award in 2018, and established his reputation worldwide during his career. Sun Chao passed away in February, 2024 at the age of 96. This vase has an exquisite color palette of greens, blues and whites, and is signed underneath. The vase includes a satin-lined box and booklet about the artist. Measurements: 14.5" high x 22.5" circumference. This item comes directly from the estate of Mrs. Bibi Hilton. Mrs. Hilton was the wife of famed Hilton hotelier and heir Eric Hilton of the Hilton Hotel family, the youngest grandson of Conrad Hilton. As the wife of Eric Hilton, Bibi Hilton traveled the world as a goodwill ambassadress for the Hilton Hotel chain. For over three decades, until his death, Bibi worked alongside her husband as his partner further branding the Hilton name to the internationally iconic status it is today. Bibi Hilton's brother-in-law, Barron Hilton, often acknowledged her as one of the Hilton Hotels Corporation's greatest assets.
