The Bible contains Old and New testament + Book of psalms and chants + Catechism published by the Nederlandsche Bijbel-Compagnie in Amsterdam in 1863. Has a double silver clasp, openwork and contoured clamp-arm, ‘muiter’ and attachment piece. On ‘muiter’, attachment piece and clamp-arm, chased large and small floral rosettes. Bible cover of black leather (i. e. shark leather) , spine 5 ribs to protect the spine, gold on embossed cut, original bookmark (peacock feather) . Silver hallmarks: "old sword" (2nd grade content silver, 833/1000) - master stamp silversmith CH5 (J. Hemmes. Assen. 1871-1883) .
