Big French empire mantel clock - NO RESERVE PRICE - Gilt bronze (ormolu), silk suspension - 1810-1825

A very good quality gilt bronze case depicting Roman warrior playing the lyre on the left side and classical ewer on the right. Dial placed in central part of the case, under lyra. Lower part of the case of rectangular shape with cut corners, with bronze mounts - warriors attributes - weapons, helmets, shield with lion, all supported on three legs. White enamel dial with black Roman numerals. Original steel hands. 8 day power reserve, two train movement with silk suspension. Movement works and strikes, recently overhauled by a clockmaster. Clock comes with an original pendulum and winding key. Probably two mounts were installed on sides - visible blind holes. Dimensions: height - 40 cm, width - 30,5 cm, depth - 10,3 cm. Weight - 6,4 kg. Conditions report: Case in very good condition for the age, very clean, minor scratches and dents, some wear to gold in places. Hole on the back - probably casting mistake. Clock originally was supported on four legs, alterned during old restoration. Damages to the dial. Worldwide delivery by Austrian Post with online tracking.
