This print is in generally excellent condition.

On the reverse, 'NB-A28' and MFAH accession numbers 'ACC: 91.425' and 'AC2819.88' are written in pencil in an unidentified hand.

Catalogue Note:
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, has been collecting and championing Bill Brandt’s photographs since the department’s inception. In 2008, it staged Photographs by Bill Brandt: A Sense of Wonder, a retrospective that surveyed four decades of his career. This photograph comes originally from the collection of Allan Chasanoff (1936 - 2020), who made a major donation of nearly 1,000 20th-century photographs to the Museum in 1991 that expanded its collection of works by Ansel Adams, Richard Avedon, Bill Brandt, Lee Friedlander, Jan Groover, WIlliam Klein, Aaron Siskind, and André Kertész, among many others. His own practice referenced the art of Henri Matisse, Mark Rothko, and Giorgio Morandi, and his photographs are in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Yale University Art Gallery.
