Binding.- Macaulay (Thomas Babington) Lays of Ancient Rome, wood-engraved additional pictorial title (bound after printed title) and numerous illustrations, title spotted, occasional spotting elsewhere, handsome black morocco, gilt, by Hayday, covers with double filet central panel, enclosed within a wide scrolling border with fleurons and rosette corner-pieces, in turn enclosed within a double filet and studded border, and this enclosed within a single filet border, spine in compartments and with horizontal filet decoration, scratches to lower cover, very slightly rubbed at extremities, g.e, small 4to (binding 222 x 178mm.), Longman, Brown, Green, and Longmans, 1855.
