The vibrant punk and hardcore scene in Los Angeles and Southern California produced many influential performers. One of the most enduring aspects of that movement was the artwork of Raymond Pettibon. Like Jamie Reid and the Sex Pistols or Stanley Mouse and the Grateful Dead, Pettibon's artwork created a visual aspect that perfectly encapsulated the energy of the scene. He created hundreds of images used on handbills and flyers distributed all throughout the region.
