Octavo. xvi, 624 pp. Half-title. Engraved frontispiece, additional engraved title and 38 plates by Hablot K. Browne ["Phiz"] Original olive-green fine-diaper cloth, covers decorated with blind border of double fillet and arabesque frame, central blind cartouche, spine in five compartments, blind stamped panels with Bleak House in the second and Charles Dickens in the fourth in gilt-lettering. Spine faded to brown (as common), extremities a bit bumped. All internal flaws present as noted in the Smith bibliography. The 10 dark plates are present. Contents clean and bright, plates with toning around the edges. A few page corners bent. It is unusual to find all points present and in the scarce original cloth binding. Protected by Mylar.
