Blown Glass Christmas Ornaments

An assortment of mid-century blown glass Christmas ornaments. The collection features a variety of forms including spheres, animal figures, and a clip-on bird. The ornaments are constructed from blown glass with internal silvering, decorated with hand-painted glazes, glitter, and mica accents. The color palette includes vibrant fuchsia, turquoise blue, gold, silver, and pale green, with several spheres featuring ombr? finishes. Decorative patterns include a red sphere with white stenciled musical notation and the text SILENT NIGHT... HOLY NIGHT..., a gold sphere with a stylized glitter floral motif, and a cobalt blue sphere with silver glitter waves. Several ornaments feature horizontal stripes and one large sphere is finished with a textured mica coating in red and blue panels. Figural ornaments include three bears with white flocking accents and a clip-on bird featuring a pink crest, green wings, and a white spun glass tail. The ornaments are fitted with metal caps and a metal spring clip for the bird. One metal cap on a striped sphere is embossed with the characters GERMANY and below that US ZONE, indicating manufacture in the American-occupied zone of Germany between 1945 and 1949. Other metal caps are present but the embossed text is not clearly legible.
