Bob Feller Tiffany Commemorative Sterling Bowl

Bob Feller, American (1918-2010). Tiffany & Co. sterling silver bowl # 59081, marked on underside. Flared rim is accented with 14K yellow gold applied emblem of a baseball and crossed bats, engraved 'TO ROBERT FELLER IN APPRECIATION OF ACHIEVEMENTS FOR MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS'. Provenance from the Estate of Bob and Ann Feller, Cleveland, Ohio. Bob was named 'The Greatest Pitcher' of his time for the Cleveland Indians and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962. He played 18 seasons for the Indians, was an 8 time 'All Star' and ranked 36 out of 100 in 'Sporting News' list of 100 of the Greastest Baseball Players. At the age of 23 he was the first American professional athlete to enlist in the military the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Bowl measures 7.5"W x 1"H. Total weight 11.57 troy ounces.
