Condition Report:
The canvas is unlined, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear. The picture presents well and areas of well preserved impasto are visible in the white draperies. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals scattered areas of retouching in the forearm, neck and cheek of Venus, and further smaller lines in Cupid’s cheek and arm, and the area above his forearm. Further areas of retouching are visible in the background. The picture is in overall good condition.
