Antwerp, 1613. 20 leaves. with engraved title and 19 engraved portraits (each c. 171 x 132 mm) by J. v. d. Straet of O. T. Prophets, numbered 2-20. Sm-4°. Later half vellum binding with marbled paper boards.

Portraits from the early 17th century after designs by Jan van der Straet (or Giovanni Stradano 1523-1605) ) , brought on copper plates by Theodoor Galle (1570 -1633)

Jan van der Straet was a pupil with Pieter Aertsen and worked in Venice and Florence for Cosimo and Francis de Medici.

Some slight foxing. Ortherwise a good copy of a rare book.
