Vintage Bookend, Scottish Terrier or Schnauzer, ornawood, 1930s-1940s, unmarked.
Ornawood with metal plate base; felt on the bottom. The bookend is 6.1/2" tall; 4.3/4" x 4" including the base plate; the top of the tail is a little damaged, very good condition.
Ornawood, made in the United States, is a product similar to Syroco-- pressed wood and resin. It was molded into objects sold in gift shops in the 1930s through 1950s. Bookends, boxes, ashtrays, tie racks, thermometers and picture frames were popular.
