Books of Rhodesia - RHODESIANA REPRINT LIBRARY

[ translate ]

Gold Series volumes 1 – 36 (De Luxe edition)

De Luxe Edition: 36 volumes uniformly bound in full tan leather, decorated and titled gilt on the upper covers and with red title labels on the spines, several volumes have light foxing on the top edges, volumes 8 and 10 have faded spines, a few volumes have mildew marks on the covers, each volume is housed in a brown cloth slip case – some with scuff marks, a very good set

The first series of the Rhodesiana Reprint Library - the Gold Series - comprises 36 volumes, most of which are facsimile re-productions of rare and out-of-print works on the pioneering and growth of Rhodesia. The books may be regarded as pieces in a jig-saw puzzle: each deals with a specific subject - exploration, transport, war, politics, archaeology, hunting and so forth - and, when the pieces are fitted together, they form a comprehensive and fascinating picture of Rhodesia's (now Zimbabwe) past.

This set was specially bound by Arthur Dare of Bulawayo who was the binder for Books of Rhodesia and who bound the original de luxe editions of this series.

The leather bound de luxe edition limited to 150 copies. The number of each volume is 22
