Borek Sipek (Bořek Šípek) (1949-2016) for Driade ‘Follies’ Series, three pairs of Bohemian ‘Enrico’ glasses c.1989 Comprising:- a pair of tall ‘Enrico II’ white wine glasses with a pale blue hoop and stem, and an everted, engraved glass collar; a pair of tall ‘Enrico III’ red wine glasses with an amethyst tinted hoop and stem, and a clear glass skirt; and a pair of tall ‘Enrico IV’ champagne glasses with amethyst tinted hoop and collar, all on a circular foot 28 cm, 29.5 cm, and 24 cm high respectively (6) Property from a Private Collection Note: Bořek Šípek (1949-2016) was a renowned postmodern Czech Architect and designer who was born in Prague and established his own design workshop in Amsterdam in 1983. He also began a collaboration with the Italian brand Driade, designing furniture and objects for them. His glass pieces have sometimes been described as Bohemian "neo-baroque". In his homeland he was designated ‘Court architect’ of Prague Castle by the then Czech president Václav Havel, the Castle being his official residence.
