Borek Sipek - Driade - Candelabra - Simon

The beautifully designed candelabrum by Czech designer Bořek Šípek, measuring 46. 5cm in height and weighing 3077g. Stamped to the underside with maker´s mark "DRIADE". The iconic seven-armed Neo Baroque silver-plated candle holder "Simon" with removable inner vase was designed by Bořek Šípek for the Italian design brand Driade in 1989. Bořek Šípek (1949-2016) studied at the school for arts and crafts in Prague, he moved to Amsterdam in 1983 and set up his design office there. His systematic revisitations of traditional craft techniques and materials have won him several prestigious awards. Condition: Very good, no damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age, a few nicks to one arm of the candelabrum. This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
