[ translate ]

Fredericia
Denmark, 1951
oak, leather
32 h × 22 w × 18 d in (81 × 56 × 46 cm)

Paper manufacturer labels to underside of one chair ‘Fredericia Stolefabrik Made in Denmark Design Borge Mogensen’ and 'Furniture Makers Danish Control Model NR. 3237 Serie Nr 1269'.

Provenance: Acquired in 2016 from Bruun Rasmussen, Denmark by the present owner

Condition: Overall good vintage condition. Wood elements showing light to moderate wear commensurate with use. Some variation to the finish of wood elements amongst the set. Leather elements with light to moderate staining on most examples, but retains an attractive patina. Some stiffness and wear to leather slings, and light cracking to the leather where it wraps around the wooden frame. One chair with splitting to wood along top edge of front seat crossbar. One chair with small separation to a joint on the frame. One chair missing back lower cross bar. One chair with broken leather strap to underside. This example also with metal feet added, and screws joining the back legs to the seat frame. Another example with added screws on the front and back legs, reinforcing them to the seat frame. The screws on the front appear to have had wood caps adhered to cover the screwheads. This example also with plastic feet added, and crack to front left leg at top and repair to front right leg at top, only noticeable upon close inspection. However, chairs are structurally sound and ready for immediate use. Each presents nicely overall.
