Description Depicting three red-crowned cranes and pine, both symbols of longevity. Manufacturer’s mark of Takeuichi Chubei with patent number to underside 2252515 ( 二 二五 二 五 五 五 一 五) , this mark was used used ca. 1890 - 1905. ( the ceramics shop opened around 1887 (Meiji 20) ) Shark's skin (samehada 鮫 肌) glaze invented by Takeuchi Chūbei for "Transparent Porcelain" held by Takeuchi Chiubei's porcelain factory, Shippo Kaisha, in Nagoya, in the Aichi prefecture of Honshu, Japan. Porcelain with a shark skin glaze and fine hand painted enamels. Its tactile surface earns it the name 'sharkskin', but it also is known by the trade name 'Coralene'. It is produced by a kiln-firing process involving special fluxes, so was expensive. Due to its cost, Datation End of 19th century Weigth 11 gr Signature Manufacturer’s mark of Takeuichi Chubei with patent number to underside Condition Perfect condition with hardly any wear.
