Rare ryôshibako document box in black and gold lacquer decorated in takamaki-e and hiramaki-e, which involves applying layers of lacquer and gold dust to create intricate designs and patterns.

In the center of the box stands an imposing castle, immersed in a natural landscape dominated by Matsu pines. The details of the castle and pine trees are rendered with extraordinary precision, capturing the essence of nature's beauty and majesty. The nashiji lacquer, with its small golden dots, forms a cloud-like texture adding a touch of depth to the panorama.

The nashiji lacquer also follows on the sides and inside.

The box is complete with its internal tray.

Tomobako dimensions 20 x 44 x 35 cm.

---The box is in good condition. There are slight vertical and horizontal openings in the wood on the edges and corners (some shown in the photos) , and some signs of aging and small defects in the lacquer. Please refer to the images for further details.
